Scout Registration
BSA requires that each Cub Scout to register annually. Returning scouts can register at the September Pack meeting. New Scouts will need to complete a registration form and turn it in at the first Den or Pack meeting they attend.
BSA requires that a Scout be registered and entered into their computer system in order to earn and track awards and rank advancement.
Scouts who have not completed the registration process will not be able to receive awards or rank advancement.
Pack & Den Dues
Pack membership dues and Den dues are necessary to ensure that there is enough money to cover the expected costs of providing a quality program. Pack dues cover BSA Fees, insurance, monthly program costs, patches and advancement awards, belt loops and pins, a pinewood derby car (typically given out at the December Pack meeting), and Pack Pinewood Derby participation awards and trophies. Den dues cover supplies for
Den related activities. Some special programs and outings may have additional costs.
Scouts Joining the Pack after the September Pack meeting will pay prorated dues at the rate of $5/month left in the Scout year (August-May).
Dues are Pack 85’s primary source of funding.
Total membership dues for each Scout in Pack 85 are $150.00. New members dues prorated by number of months to recharter.
Paying dues and other fees
Pack Dues and other fees (event participation, camping trips, etc.) can be paid at the monthly Pack meeting, or turned in to your Den leader at a regular Den meeting. Payments can be made in cash or by check. We also can accept payment via credit card at the monthly Pack Meeting.
Unpaid Membership Dues
In order to be fair to all Scouts, membership dues are due upon registration. Scouts that have not paid their full dues will not be eligible to receive awards or rank advancement. For returning Scouts, if payment arrangements have not been made by the close of the September Pack meeting, Scouts with a past due balance will not be eligible to receive future awards or participate in Pack events until their account is made current.
Financial Assistance
The goal of Pack 85 is not to deny a Scouting experience to any boy because of an inability to pay dues. A variety of options are available to assist boys needing financial assistance. If your family is requesting financial assistance, we request that you participate in our fundraising efforts to provide the funds we use for financial assistance.
