German Ridge Trail, Hoosier National Forest

The German Ridge Trail is located in the Hoosier National Forest near Cannelton, IN. The maps and driving directions are attached. This trail does have elevation changes, but the level of difficulty is moderate. Troop 15 has hiked this trail several times, but we have only used this as a day hike doing the first 10 mile loop. However, the trail can be expanded to add further loops out to a total of 30 miles and a weekend backpacking trip. There is water in small streams at several points along the route. The photo is of a picnic/campsite about 5 miles in from the parking area. Allow an hour drive time to get to the trail head. In the same area are the Mogan Ridge Trail, Nebo Ridge Trail, Twin Lakes Trail, and Hemlock Cliffs trail. These maps are also attached.
