Information for Families

Girl Scouts is an international organization dedicated solely to girls. In partnership with committed adults, girls build character and skills to achieve success in the real world - all while having fun!  Girl Scouts is for any girl, age 5-17, who subscribes to the Girl Scout Promise and Law.

Troop 2144 started in 2014 as a Daisy troop. Girl Scouts annual registration begins in September, but registration can take place anytime.

When are Troop Meetings?

These will be held the first Tuesday of the month.  Please check calendar for official dates and locations.

Where do I buy uniforms and other Girl Scout items?

Daisy Troop 2144 has chosen to wear the Daisy Vest. When you purchase a uniform for your Daisy scout, you will also need to buy these items:

  1. Girl Scout Council Identification Set badge
  2. Wavy flag
  3. Troop Numbers (2-1-4-4)
  4. Yellow Insignia Tab
  5. Daisy Pin
  6. World Trefoil Pin
  7. Daisy Petal Set

Additionally, for 2014-15 there is a annual registration fee of $20, and troop dues of $15.  Financial assistance is available for these, so please contact the troop leader for more information.  This will remain confidential.

Your Daisy Girl Scout will be collecting patches for activities; these should be placed on the back side of the uniform.  Uniforms can be purchased at the GSNWGL Council Shop or through your Troop Leader.  For more information about the cost of uniforms, please visit the GSNWGL Shop page on the left.  For information about patch placement, please visit the Vest Badge Placement pages on the left.

What about Girl Scout Cookies?

The annual Girl Scout Cookie sale begins in February.  Proceeds support both our troop activities as well as the local council, Girl Scouts Northwestern Great Lakes.  Participation in the cookie sale is voluntary, and other than small incentive gifts for the girls, all proceeds are pooled regardless of how many boxes each girl sells.
