About BSA Troop 969 Shanghai

BSA Troop 969 belongs to the Far East Council of the Boy Scouts of America and is chartered through Concordia International School Shanghai (CISS).
Troop 969 serves the expat communities in Eastern Shanghai (Pudong).  We have over 30 scouts and a group of dedicated adult leaders.  Our troop is open to boys who are 11 through 17 years old, have earned their Arrow of Light [Cub Scouting award], or have completed the fifth grade (UK year 6). Membership is open to foreign passport holders only. Our membership reflects the very board and diverse community that we have in Pudong with members from USA, China, Korea, Australia, Hong Kong, France, Germany, Brazil, Malaysia, Canada and Russia among others.
Not 11 years old yet? Check out the Pudong Cub Scout packs.

Troop meetings are generally held every Wednesday at 7pm at
Concordia International School

Youth Led Program

Troop 969 is a youth led organization. While the adult leadership and committee provide the framework and high level guidance, the scouts are responsible for planning meetings and activities. The basic element of youth leadership is the Patrol (see Troop Structure). Each patrol elects a patrol leader and the troop as a whole elects the senior patrol leader and assistant senior patrol leader. These youth leaders form the Patrol Leader Council (PLC). The PLC meets monthly to plan the theme and activities for the month. They also assign patrol responsibilities for each troop meeting. In addition, scouts are appointed to other youth leadership positions by the SPL. Together these scouts form the youth leadership responsible for the troop's day to day activities.
