Troop 242

Meets every Monday evening from 6:30 - 8:00 PM.

Meet our mascot "George". George came to us in the early 1980's when former Scoutmaster Norm Yeagle drew a Troop Logo based on a few scouts who were small guys and had to hike up their pants to their shirt pockets in order for them to fit. It was first carved into the flagpole at Camp Lyle in the Thompson site. Sometime later the flagpole was cut down. Those who cut it down saved the section with George carved in it, they then returned that to Mr. Yeagle. Since that time "George" became the Troop 242 Mascot and now can be found on our trailer, t-shirts, and neckerchiefs.

Troop 242 plans a camping trip or day activity every month. We attend Summer Camp for 1 week each year. Boy Scouting is about being outdoors. Troop 242 trys to keep that prinicple out front.
