When does the troop sell cookies?

The annual Girl Scout Cookie salebegins in mid-January. The main goal of cookies sales is to teach girls how to setgoals, plan budgets, handle money and communicate with other people. Proceedssupport both our troop activities as well as the local council, Girl ScoutsCouncil of the Colonial Coast. Participation in the cookie sale is voluntary, and all proceeds are pooled regardless of how many boxes each girlsells.

The council also offers a Fall Product Program (magazines andnuts/candy). The Fall Product Program is a friends andfamily sale in which girls offer products to friends, neighbors, family membersand other close acquaintances. Each troop earns a larger profit margin than cookie sales and the profits can be used for troopactivities, events and supplies. The Council retains a portion of the proceedsto pay for the cost of the products, materials and shipping. The remainder ofthe funds go to support girl programs.
